Liza and Will were the first couple that I’d worked with who weren’t close friends or family. I had met Liza through a mutual friend, but theirs is a love story that I knew I’d have to share with you all.  Lyza and Will were high school sweethearts, and so in love…  But in June of 2010, William was going to be shipped overseas to live on the military base in Guam for four years.  And he decided he didn’t want to go without Lyza by his side… as his WIFE.
So in a few short months, they planned a small, intimate wedding, and prepared to start a very new life together!  I attended the beautiful ceremony, held on Will’s parents property, and if any of you know me, you know that I shed a few tears during the ceremony, and gave them both long hugs and my sincere congratulations before the night was over.  I just love LOVE, and theirs is a love that was so pure and sweet… THIS is why I love doing flowers for weddings.  THIS is why!!
So here are the florals that I created for Liza and Will…  I’ll start with the boutonnieres… These first two were for the parents of the bride and groom.

The groom looked very handsome in his military attire, and wore a boutonniere of one light pink cymbidium orchid, a tiny ranunculus bloom, and a few pearls to match the bridal bouquet.  It was simply wrapped with ivory satin ribbon.

The bridal bouquet had the same orchids, ranunculus and pearls as the grooms bout, but I added some gorgeous fully bloomed roses in a softer shade of pink.  Handle wrapped in ivory satin ribbon.  Perfection.  So feminine & elegant!

The MOH [maid of honor] carried a bouquet that was fully ‘blinged out’, with crystal sprays, and had a collar of ribbon loops.  Her bouquet consisted of pale pink roses, and different shades of pink ranunculus.  I also used the dark purple agonis leaves because I love the contrast and texture that it adds.

The bridesmaids bouquets were made up of the same flowers as the MOH, minus the crystals and collar, but they all were wrapped with a black ribbon to match their dresses.

I sometimes like to surprise my brides with a toss bouquet so they don’t have to throw their bridal bouquet [that I worked so hard on!!]

Now check out these amazing images of the MOH bouquet, taken by Elena Wilken.  I just LOVE her style, she just knows how to make those colors POP!
