Maysara Winery | Oregon Wedding Inspiration Photoshoot

November 27th, 2011

I have been very blessed this year to meet and work with some of the most amazing wedding professionals!  A few months ago, I was asked if I’d be interested in participating in a wedding inspiration shoot at an Oregon Winery called, Maysara.  I said YES.  And here are the amazing images as captured by the wonderful and talented Deyla Huss.  Thank you Deyla and Becky of No Ordinary Affair for having me along!  It was quite the drive down to the winery, but we had SO much fun setting up, enjoying the warm, beautiful sunset as Deyla was taking photos, and eating all the yummy treats that Premier Catering brought along!
Here is the fabulous video footage of this gorgeous inspiration shoot,  created by Focal Point Digital Media.
The centerpiece I created was an elevated cascade design, and featured hydrangea, garden roses, dusty miller and more.
The bridal bouquet was designed using garden roses, astilbe, ranunculus and dusty miller as well.
Enjoy these gorgous images!

My bride Kim came to me FOUR days before her wedding and asked me to design a bouquet for her wedding, and provide flowers for DIY centerpieces.  I loved it!  Kim was SO sweet, laid back and NOT stressed out! She told me a bit about the wedding, and I was totally up for the challenge! I was able to score some great product at the market the next morning, and created a gorgeous bouquet for her, and upon delivery, stayed a while and helped her Mom and Sister design a few small arrangements in vintage bud vases for the guest tables.

Here are the beautiful images captured by Yasmin Khajavi Photography!
Thank you Yasmin for sending Kim my way!!

Kims bridal bouquet was designed using a few succulents, blue thistle, white roses and white hydrangea.

Fall Centerpiece

November 13th, 2011

I am just in love with the colors of fall!  I have done THREE truly fall-inspired weddings this season, and 1 gorgeous photoshoot [which I can't wait to share with you!!] And I just love the vibrant, warm colors! They remind me of the beautiful colors of the changing leaves this time of year.  I want to share with you a set of designs that I made last week for a Thanksgiving event I attended.

For these designs, I used my favorite little vessels – black-stained wood boxes – and wrapped them in a thick mauve yarn. I did this same technique for the fall shoot I mentioned – the fuzzy yarn reminds me of a favorite warm scarf or pair of knit gloves. The flowers I used in this design were a type of mum, scabiosa pods for texture, yellow yarrow and billy balls.  I just love these little arrangements because they’re perfect on their own, or as a set, to embellish your festive holiday table!

As the season changes, and it gets colder… The beautiful fall leaves will be gone soon, and winter will be upon us.  Let’s all take the time to really think about what we’re thankful for and reflect on how beautiful life is!
