Sweet Spring Blooms

April 27th, 2012

I designed a few small arrangements for AniA Collection today in modern white ceramic cube vases. They were designed using Ranunculus, Lavender Lilac, and a simple Scented Geranium leaf.  Just thought I’d share these sweet little blooms with you!

Floral Designs for The Oregon Golf Club Bridal Open House

February 17th, 2012

Last Sunday I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in The Oregon Golf Club‘s Bridal Open House.  I had a great time meeting some lovely brides who will be getting married at this beautiful venue, got to chat with other great vendors at the event, and best of all, I got to take part in the tasting.  Yum!!
Here are photos of (first) an arrangement I made for my neighbor at the event, Erica of Erica Hartman Photography, and (down below) my humble little display at the show.  Just a simple table set with 3 lush arrangements.  I designed them in wood boxes wrapped in satin ribbon & a beaded applique. They are filled with fluffy white hydrangea, Romantik Antike pink garden roses, and one stunning succulent!

Fleur:ology at the Art of Weddings 2012 {Part 1} | Portland, Oregon Bridal Show

January 22nd, 2012

We did our first bridal show! And I’m pretty sure we ROCKED it!
I had the wonderful honor of being a vendor at one of Portland’s best bridal events last week!
The Art of Weddings bridal show is known to be a fabulous, high-end bridal show where you can come to meet some of the best wedding vendors in the area.  It’s not your typical overwhelming wedding “trade show”, but a much more relaxed environment where you can take your time getting to know the vendors, taste food, enjoy drinks, and actually leave feeling INSPIRED and excited to plan your wedding!
The space was a collaboration between myself and the amazing Lindsay of Paper Bloom!
I love Lindsay so much!! Not only is she MY graphic designer for Fleur:ology, but she is a fellow mommy, AMAZING invitation and stationary designer and has become a dear friend since we first met at the Art of Weddings last year!  So this was an extra special night for us, because we were celebrating our 1 year friend-iversary!!  Lindsay and I spent countless hours working together to plan our space, design the theme of our main table, and other designs that we had on display for the show.  I had so much fun working with her, and it was such a stress-free and enjoyable creative process!  Here are the photos I took of our little space at the Art of Weddings bridal show!!
For starters, we had both of our signs hung [both designed by Lindsay!].  The entire venue at Pure Space was softened up with white chiffon draping, but we added a few white uplights to make our space really glow and stand out from the rest!  Our main attraction was a 6 foot banquet table featuring a modern yet romantic wedding theme.

Next to our main display table, Lindsay and I collaborated on a few other bridal trends that we wanted to showcase.  We called this our “style” table, and had a little sign that read: “What’s Your Bridal Style?”  This was a chance for brides to see that we can do more than just modern glam, but we love ALL the gorgeous wedding trends that are alive and well today!  [In the order that they appear below...]
Anthro Chic
[Inspired by the one and only, Anthropologie]
Modern Brights
[Fun, bright, color blocked - perfect for summer!]
Rustic Elegance
[Romantic roses paired with rustic texture]

Our fabulous Marketing Table was covered with a floor length grey linen, and a silver sequins overlay that added some serious sparkle to our little corner of the bridal show!!   We had our business cards and postcards displayed here, as well as our iPads with our portfolio’s playing as slideshows, a bowl of  delicious lavender french macaroons [baked by my amazing friend Rachel], and of course more flowers, box of stationary by Lindsay and a few candles!
The bouquet I designed for this table didn’t photograph very well in the lighting here, but it was made of silver dusty miller leaves, eggplant colored mini calla lilies, and a few gorgeous mini succulents!

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

December 18th, 2011

I love the Holidays – from Thanksgiving Dinner, all of the Christmas celebrations and of course ringing in the New Year.  I love decorating, eating, spending time with family, and eating some more!  And now that my two babies are a little older [ok FINE, they're not babies anymore... I'll let go... Aaron is 4 1/2 & Olivia is 3 1/2] all of these wonderful celebrations are even more special, meaningful & magical. This year they helped select, cut down & decorate our tree, and they’re really starting to understand the true meaning of Christmas.  We even split up into teams [boys with boys & girls with girls] to buy gifts for each other, secretly wrap them and hide them under the tree!

From Fleur:ology, and my little family to yours, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas… Whatever it is that you celebrate, I hope that you have joy, peace and love in your heart, and are surrounded by the ones you love most!

This past week, I had some fun designing a few floral pieces for the company holiday party for an architecture firm here in Portland [BOORA]. You can read the post about the designs I made for them last year HERE.

I created a few small arrangements using white hydrangea and succulents. The vessels were wrapped in rough burlap and tied with coordinating blue twine for a bit of a rustic feel.

I also wrapped a few potted succulents in the same burlap and some natural twine. These were great because the guests could take the plants home at the end of the evening and keep them forever! [Can you tell I have a thing for succulents lately??  I just LOVE THEM!!]

I also designed a few larger for their buffet and entrance tables.  White hydrangea and beautiful cedar for a more festive look. These sat atop glass cylinder vases and kind of looked like they were floating in mid air – love how they turned out!

Modern Woodland Tablescape

October 19th, 2011

I’ll just do a quick write up for this post – because the images really speak for themselves!  A million THANK YOU’s to Diana of diana marie photography who came out to shoot this event for me!
This June, one of my sisters threw her husband a surprise 40th birthday party at my big sisters property in Corbett, OR. My big sisters property is so stinkin’ gorgeous!! Her beautiful home, covered in vines growing up the walls, perfectly manicured garden, gorgeous views of the Columbia River Gorge and surrounded by lush forest, was the perfect setting for a Woodland Inspired celebration with an intimate yet masculine tablescape.  I used moss covered wood cookies and firewood from my sisters house, brown paper and twine wrapped fern plants and candles, and chunks of moss and white river rocks.  This all looked amazing against a soft burlap table linen, white ceramic dinnerware and farm house style kitchen towels for guest napkins. We really tried to stay away from flowers on this one, to keep in masculine, and I think I pulled it off!
Enjoy the detail photos Diana took, and check out my sisters amazing garden at the end of the post!
