All things new…

April 17th, 2012

So exciting to be kicking off the 2012 wedding season with a pretty new website, logo and lots of beautiful weddings coming up!

A very sincere, from.the.bottom.of.my.heart. THANK YOU to Lindsay of Paper Bloom Studio and Steph Anne of Yellow & Savvy Design for helping make this new website a reality for me!  I’m so excited to use the new blog to share more sneak peeks of weddings, and little pieces of my heart with all my readers.

I’ll leave you with one of my favorite shots from a recent wedding inspiration shoot.

Maysara Winery | Oregon Wedding Inspiration Photoshoot

November 27th, 2011

I have been very blessed this year to meet and work with some of the most amazing wedding professionals!  A few months ago, I was asked if I’d be interested in participating in a wedding inspiration shoot at an Oregon Winery called, Maysara.  I said YES.  And here are the amazing images as captured by the wonderful and talented Deyla Huss.  Thank you Deyla and Becky of No Ordinary Affair for having me along!  It was quite the drive down to the winery, but we had SO much fun setting up, enjoying the warm, beautiful sunset as Deyla was taking photos, and eating all the yummy treats that Premier Catering brought along!
Here is the fabulous video footage of this gorgeous inspiration shoot,  created by Focal Point Digital Media.
The centerpiece I created was an elevated cascade design, and featured hydrangea, garden roses, dusty miller and more.
The bridal bouquet was designed using garden roses, astilbe, ranunculus and dusty miller as well.
Enjoy these gorgous images!

Vintage Americana Wedding Inspiration Shoot | Portland Wedding Floral Design

October 24th, 2011

My husband Sam and I first spoke on a flight from Sacramento to Portland.
Sam was studying to become an airplane mechanic when were were dating.
As a baby, our firstborn, Aaron [4], would stare up at the sky every single time a plane would fly overhead and squeal with joy.
We love airplanes, airports, traveling – and as many times as Sam has tried to explain the concept of LIFT, I am still baffled and amazed at how these giant aircraft can fly through the sky with such grace!
When photographer Sara Gray asked me to join her on a road trip to Seattle, Washington for a Vintage Americana Wedding Inspiration Shoot set in the The Museum of Flight, I nearly squealed like a child!

This amazing photoshoot was turned into MarryThis! Guide 04: 1940s Americana Wedding.
Check out MarryThis! and their collection of guides for inspiration and step by step instructions on how to plan the perfect wedding in some pretty unique themes!

Now onto the wedding inspiration!  Starting with the long banquet-style reception table and fabulous “air mail” inspired stationary by Champagne Sunday on Etsy!
The table featured faux milk glass vases with sweet little arrangements of white blooms.  Milk glass is so popular right now with all of the vintage wedding inspiration all over the place, but true milk glass can be pretty hard to track down!  I did a little DIY project of my own for this shoot and purchased basic glass bud vases with intricate designs cut into the glass, and used all-surface white spray paint to give them the same look as milk glass [but it took waaayyy less time because I didn't have to search every antique shop in town!]

Next up… The Candy Buffet!  I just love Liz Gomez of The Candy Buffet – she really is a genius when it comes to thinking of every last detail and pulling all these “sweet” elements together.  Check out what she created!!

Our gorgeous bridesmaid model, Kirsten sporting a beautiful Serephine hairpiece!
Her bouquet was made up of lipstick red roses and anemones, and the stems were wrapped with a red and white gingham patterned ribbon!

One thing that I love about Sara is that she will only use REAL couples as models in her shoots.  It makes for super sweet shots of true love and MUCH less awkwardness ;)
Our bride wore another beautiful piece by Serephine, and carried a bouquet of lipstick red roses, amaryllis, anemones, and queen annes lace – all wrapped up with red and white gingham ribbon.

And here is the amazing team that put this all together!! (Of course, Sara is behind the lens!)

Modern Woodland Tablescape

October 19th, 2011

I’ll just do a quick write up for this post – because the images really speak for themselves!  A million THANK YOU’s to Diana of diana marie photography who came out to shoot this event for me!
This June, one of my sisters threw her husband a surprise 40th birthday party at my big sisters property in Corbett, OR. My big sisters property is so stinkin’ gorgeous!! Her beautiful home, covered in vines growing up the walls, perfectly manicured garden, gorgeous views of the Columbia River Gorge and surrounded by lush forest, was the perfect setting for a Woodland Inspired celebration with an intimate yet masculine tablescape.  I used moss covered wood cookies and firewood from my sisters house, brown paper and twine wrapped fern plants and candles, and chunks of moss and white river rocks.  This all looked amazing against a soft burlap table linen, white ceramic dinnerware and farm house style kitchen towels for guest napkins. We really tried to stay away from flowers on this one, to keep in masculine, and I think I pulled it off!
Enjoy the detail photos Diana took, and check out my sisters amazing garden at the end of the post!

Plum + Bronze Glamour | Wedding Inspiration Shoot | Portland, Oregon Wedding Floral Design

August 16th, 2011

Amazing images from diana marie photography from our photoshoot which placed top 10 in the Inspired Creations Contest hosted by Elizabeth Anne Designs + The Sweetest Occasion {read the post HERE}.

I know there are a TON of photos in this post [lots of eye candy!!], but please take your time and soak in all the little details!

A million thank you‘s go out to my vendor friends and girl friends who came out and made this happen – I don’t bake, do hair, makeup, or any of those things that made this inspiration shoot what it is.  And I certainly couldn’t have set up or cleaned up in the time that we did, without these amazing women!

I hope you enjoy drooling over these photos as much as I did when I first laid eyes on them.

xo
