I am thrilled to share Julia + Kirk’s wedding with you photographed by Powers Photography!  This wedding took place at Zenith Vineyard in Oregon on a glorious day in early September.  Julia and Kirk were just radiant and you could seriously feel the love as family and friends began to arrive for the ceremony.  Most had traveled from out of town, and what a perfect location to spend the day and celebrate a marriage!  Planning was executed flawlessly by No Ordinary Affair for this wedding and it was such a pleasure to work with all these great vendors!

It’s been a bit since I last blogged, but I am so excited to share with you all now my favorite bouquets of my 2012 wedding season!  The funnest part of this post is that my Chapel Designer friends from across the globe have also blogged about their favorite bouquets, and you can find the links to their posts at the end of this post!  I’m am a proud member of the Chapel Designers group, and can’t tell you how inspiring and uplifting it is to call these amazing designers my friends!

This first bouquet was designed for bride Genovieve, for June wedding at The Reserve Golf Course last year.  I had fun playing with glorious Cafe au Lait dahlias imported from California, Pink O’hara and Romantik Antique garden roses, blush pink Hydrangea and Calla Lilies, and just a touch of soft orange Roses. This next bouquet was created for bride Kellie for her June wedding at the Oregon Golf Club.  I got to work with tons of succulents last season, but they weren’t always featured in the bridal bouquets, and I just love the color and texture that they bring to this gorgeous bouquet!  In this bouquet, I used coral charm Peonies, blush pink Peonies & Hydrangea, peach Juliet Garden Roses, accented by grey Dusty Miller and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus leaves.  Photo by: Me!

Ok, just ONE more!  I realize that the first 3 bouquets were kind of all in the pink/peach color family… What can I say, I had a LOT of pink weddings last year!  But this last one is a breathtaking deep red bouquet created for bride Allison for her wedding at Zenith Vineyards in August. In this gorgeous bouquet are plum Calla Lilies, deep red Dahlias, red Piano Garden Roses, “hearts” red Roses, and red/dark pink Cymbidium Orchids.  I really loved how dark and lush this bouquet was, with lots of texture from blooms, but no foliage whatsoever. Karla + Warren were married in September at McMenamins Grand Lodge .  The bride wore a classic lace dress, the groom a dapper grey suit, but they wanted to infuse a touch of Woodland texture into their decor.  With burlap runners on each guest table, centerpieces designed in birch vessels, and the ceremony taking place outdoors in the lawn outside the tented reception, I’d say they did a great job of blending their beautiful classic outdoor wedding, with a fun, understated Woodland theme.  Here are a few detail shots from BJT Photography.

Today was the first official day of Fall. It’s kind of bittersweet really.  No more trips to the pool, eating popsicles, or roasting marshmallows over a bonfire.  But with Fall comes all kinds of exciting new things.  My oldest started Kindergarten and is on a soccer team now, we get to enjoy hot tea and coffee drinks, and pretty soon we’ll be wearing scarves and boots.  It’s been a gorgeous  September here in Portland, but the weather is starting to slowly cool off, and pretty soon the leaves will start changing colors – it’s a glorious time of year!

Here is a bouquet I put together for fun, just in celebration of this beautiful time of year.  Gorgeous burgundy Dahlia’s, Mini Calla Lilies, and dark tinted Millet.  I had fun clustering each of the blooms so that they could each stand out and make their own dramatic statement, and I’m totally loving the Millet and how it kind of cascades.  Wrapped it up pretty with warm copper ribbon and a few bronze pins.

I only have a few more weddings here, and I’ll be wrapping up my 3rd wedding season with a whopping TWENTY ONE weddings.  I am shocked as I look at that number because it’s nearly double from what I did last year! It’s been an amazing one folks, and I am so so thankful for all the support around me, for all of my brides that I got to work with this year, and all my vendor friends who sent their couples to me!  There are some some great things in store for 2013 and I am excited to move forward and make some beautiful things happen!

Jenny & David were married at the Oregon Golf Club this summer, and I had the honor of designing Jenny’s bridal party flowers!  Jenny and I go way back… like middle school way back, and I’m so happy for her and David!  Here are just a few pictures I took of one of her bridesmaids bouquets… can’t wait to see the professional photos from the fabulous Cami!
